ABOUT ME

I'm a postdoctoral research fellow at the Physics Department "G. Occhialini" of University of Milano-Bicocca, where I'm part of the astrophysics group.

My research is primary focused on the physics driving the formation and evolution of Massive Black Holes, extremely fascinating objects residing in the nuclei of galaxies.

Black holes and galaxies cannot be reproduced in laboratories on Earth, thus I spend my time  performing both theoretical calculations as well as computer simulations trying to advance our knowledge about their formation, evolution and observability.

My work is instrumental for predictions about the detection prospects of current and forthcoming gravitational wave experiments targeting such extreme objects, like Pulsar Timing Array (PTA) and Laser Interferomenter Space Antenna (LISA).

My path

I did my undergraduate studies at University of Milano-Bicocca (Milan, Italy), where I got my bachelor degree in Physics (2012) and my master degree in Astrophysics (2014).

In November 2014 I started my PhD studies at University of Insubria (Como, Italy) under the supervision of Francesco Haardt. During this period I worked on the dynamics of Massive Black Hole Triplets bound to form in galactic nuclei, a topic that I'm still investigating.

I got my PhD degree in February 2018 and I spent the following year as a postdoc fellow at University of Insubria.

From April 2019 to December 2022 I was a postdoctoral researcher at University of Milano-Bicocca, working with Massimo Dotti, Monica Colpi and Alberto Sesana.

I am currently a research fellow (Ricercatore TDA) at University of Milano-Bicocca.
